SUPER MAGNETS
Super magnets are ceramic material pressed from NdFeB powder (or SmCo powder). They are the most powerful magnet type known and have a 10-fold effect compared to basic ferrite magnets. Normally they endure temperatures up to 80 °C but there are also magnets that endure up to 200°C. The NdFeB alloy is not corrosion resistant so the magnets are almost always coated with for example zinc or nickel. All magnets in our stock are coated. The SmCo resists corrosion far better than NdFeB and also endures temperatures up to 250 °C. Super magnets are also available combined to plastic; these are only half as effective as ceramic magnets.
Super magnets are most commonly used in electronic industry where great power output combined with small size is needed.
